Fighting Against All Odds – Part 1

Prayer Is Fighting Against All Odds

To fight against all odds, firstly, you need to be in the habit of beginning each day with some time spent in prayer.

There is nothing that can take the place of praying. Nothing. A simple, sincere connection with God is the most significant factor in determining how to live your life by God’s desire. When it seems as if the whole underworld is conspiring against you and no one can assist you, you need to pray as you have never prayed before.

James 1:5-7 — But if anyone is deficient in wisdom, he should ask God, who gives to all generously and without reprimand, and it will be given to him. But he must ask in faith without doubting, for the one who doubts is like a wave of the sea, blown and tossed around by the wind. For that person must not suppose that he will receive anything from the Lord,

When you pray, ask God to make His will known to you and how it should play out in your life. Jesus instructed His followers to pray, “May your will be done.” If you pray for the sake of satisfying your whims and caprices, you will not get the answers you need. When, however, you get to the point in prayer where you are prepared to prioritise God’s will above your own, you have arrived at a significant turning point in the prayer process.

God will recognise that you have submitted your will to His, and at that point, He will start to show you His purpose for your life. Even if it may not seem that way at first, God wants you to discover His plan for your life even more than you desire to discover it for yourself.

Pray In The Spirit

You have to come to the realisation that God always has your best interests in mind, regardless of how terrible things may seem to be at the moment. Always pray in the Spirit whenever you pray. Paul affirmed that the Holy Spirit would intercede on your behalf “with groanings that cannot be expressed” in prayer. God is more aware of what it is that you need than you are.

Romans 8:26-27 — In the same way, the Spirit helps us in our weakness, for we do not know how we should pray, but the Spirit himself intercedes for us with inexpressible groanings. And he who searches our hearts knows the mind of the Spirit, because the Spirit intercedes on behalf of the saints according to God’s will.

However, the power of prayer is what moves God to act on our behalf. The Holy Spirit does pray on our behalf. The effectiveness of your prayers for God’s will to be done in your life is increased when your family members pray with you and for you at the same time.

The Colossian Church

Colossians 1:9 — For this reason we also, from the day we heard about you, have not ceased praying for you and asking God to fill you with the knowledge of his will in all spiritual wisdom and understanding,

Colossians 4:12 — Epaphras, who is one of you and a slave of Christ, greets you. He is always struggling in prayer on your behalf, so that you may stand mature and fully assured in all the will of God.

When Paul visited the church at Colosse, he saw that the members had faith, he saw that they loved one another, and he saw that they had hope; yet, he also saw that they lacked understanding on how to proceed in their walk with Christ.

They were distinct from the church that existed at Corinth, which was endowed with a wealth of knowledge and many gifts and graces. As a result, Paul started praying this prayer for them because he was aware of the fact that ignorance about the will of God is a consistent source of both wrong and anguish.

Your mind may be full of things that are not of God. It is also possible that there are empty spots in your mind that would encourage Satan to come and fill them. If your mind is not full of the will of God, it may be that your mind is full of things that are not of God.

Paul saw that he needed to take action to prevent the people of Colosse from going through significant adversity without the knowledge of the will of God in their minds. This may have been the result of the people’s thoughts or the assaults of the adversary. He was unable to be with them for the rest of their lives, so he did the best he could: he prayed, and he asked others to join him in prayer! Prayer has the power to move things!

Ask People To Pray For You

Do not be afraid to ask people who love you to pray for you when you find yourself in a situation where the adversary is surrounding you; this will help you better understand the will of God for your life. God will make everything clear to you in due time. It is one thing to have complete insight into the will of God, and it is another quite else to be overflowing with knowledge.

Scripture enlightens us as to the overall will of God and reveals it to us in a collective manner. We are aware of the will of God regarding each individual, both male and female. Since the Bible also teaches that God can do more than we are even capable of thinking, we may deduce that God’s will encompasses more than what our brains can fathom.

Only God is aware of the fact that our limited intellect is incapable of comprehending the whole of the knowledge of God’s will. Nevertheless, God can impart His will into our thoughts to the extent that we can carry out His directives for each of our lives. Through the practice of prayer, God can bring to your mind the particular responsibilities that He has called and equipped you to do.

I want to urge you to look for the people in your life who have your well-being in mind and surround yourself with them. Join in prayer with them, asking God to fill your mind with an understanding of His perfect purpose, and ask that you may be united in this endeavour.
