Why Do I Believe The Bible Is The Word Of God? – Part 3

BECAUSE OF THE IMPACT OF THE BOOK

More power to elevate mankind to God can be found in that little book than in all other literature combined, and it has the potential to rescue, cleanse, deliver, save, gladden, and beautify the lives of those who read it. When it comes to elevating people to God, no other book has the power of the Bible, thus obviously the Bible must have been handed down from God in a special manner.

A person came to me who was the worst drunkard I have ever met; a man with incredible brainpower who had fallen under the spell of evil and become a terrible, demonic crook of a human being. Finally, God’s light shone into his dark heart, and by the power of that book (the Word Of God), he has been converted into one of the most humbling, kind, and honourable men I know today.

The answer is that no other book could have accomplished it. What other book can raise the morale of people, groups, cities, states, and countries as much as this one does?

THE BOOK HAS AN INFINITE AMOUNT OF MATERIAL

It has not been updated since given and compiled, yet even lifelong scholars would not be able to cover all of it. George Müller read it over a hundred times, and he still found new things to like in it each time. Is there any other book for which such may be said?

Amazingly, not only have mankind delved into it over the last 1600-plus years, but generations of men have given the world thousands of books dedicated to its exposition. Despite this, they have not yet reached the bottom of the quarry. A book written by man may be completely read through by man, yet even the combined efforts of all men have not exhausted this one. In what way do you plan to account for it? This is the only way for all of God’s infinite wisdom and understanding to be included in one book.

To refute the Bible’s inspiration, a clever writer argues: “How irreligious to charge an infinite God with having penned His complete Word in so little a book.” He cannot fathom how his own words may be used against him. The fact that so much knowledge can be contained inside such a little volume is proof positive of the book’s divine nature.

BECAUSE AS WE MATURE IN WISDOM AND PURITY, WE ADVANCE TOWARDS SCRIPTURE

When one first begins to read the Bible, he will undoubtedly encounter many passages with which he does not agree. Yet, as one continues to study and become more like His Son – Christ, the closer he will feel to the Scriptures. In proportion as we get closer to God’s perspective, our differences with the Bible will diminish. If you follow the math, what result do you get?

We shall finally encounter the Scriptures when we reach God. Thus, the Bible was written from God’s point of view.

BASED ON THE HOLY SPIRIT’S WITNESS

God was our starting point, and He will be our final destination as well. We started by hearing from the second member of the Trinity, and now we hear from the third. The Holy Spirit authenticates the Bible’s claims of divine authority in the hearts of all believers. That the Bible is God’s Word can be established beyond a reasonable doubt is within reach.

Jesus said, “My sheep hear my voice,” and I know that the voice that talks to me from the pages of that Book is the voice of my Father, just as God’s children know His voice.

John 10:27My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me…”

That witness is available to anybody. The instructions are in John 7:17. If any person is seeking God’s will, they will be able to discern whether or not a certain doctrine originates from above. As long as you are willing to let God take you where he wants you to go, you will be in the right frame of mind to read this book and identify the voice inside as the voice of the God to whom you’ve given your will.

John 7:17If anyone wants to do God’s will, he will know about my teaching, whether it is from God or whether I speak from my own authority.

There is a clear line between right and wrong, and I pledge to walk that line no matter where it leads. I will make every effort to learn the truth, and if I come to believe that Jesus Christ is the Messiah, then I will put my faith in Him and proclaim Him to the world.

IT IS SURVIVAL THROUGH EVERYTHING

One of the most significant archaeological artefacts ever found was unearthed by a Bedouin shepherd is just an example. These are called the Dead Sea Scrolls.

Bedouin shepherds and a team of archaeologists uncovered the Dead Sea Scrolls between 1946 and 1956 in a series of 12 caves around the site originally known as the Ein Feshkha Caves near the Dead Sea in the West Bank (which was then part of Jordan). The caves were located near the Dead Sea in what was then Jordan. These caves are now known as Qumran caves. [1]

Documents that had been concealed for 2,000 years were discovered in a cave on the northwest rim of the Dead Sea after a jar that had been smashed within the cave surrendered its contents. Further discoveries led to the production of manuscripts that were one thousand years older than the previous oldest copy. One of the most significant was a manuscript of the book of Isaiah. It brought to light a text that is, in all important respects, identical to the book of Isaiah that is included in the Bibles that we use today.

The discovery of the Dead Sea scrolls was akin to a symbolic handshake extended to a country that had finally returned home. They debunked the allegations of individuals who claimed that the original Bible had been tampered with over time and lost throughout history.
